This is probably a question that has come up for many of you. The obvious answer to international adoption would have been Latvia. However this isn't really an option for us. Not only does this process require setting up residency in Latvia, but the available situations didn't match up to our own list of priorities.
So we have researched, and attended seminars. What we learned, is that bringing a baby into your family always has risks. Whether it is international, or domestic adoption (or even biological children). The risks and unpredictability involved in domestic adoption and pursuing more biological children is not something we are comfortable with at this time. So international it is, but how do you choose a country?
We first learned about Korea at an international adoption seminar. On paper Korea had everything we had high on our list of priorities. But mostly, Korea is where we feel our child is. I've never really had that moment of clarity, feeling destined or led in some way towards something that is meant to be. Until now.

American, Latvian, Korean.....I just can't wait to meet my future neice/nephew and give him a big hug and kiss!
p.s. Love the clock with Korea's time on it. Very cool!
Who is Amp?
You said it, Corey Amp & Steve! This baby is already loved by so many!
Any update on the Kimchi?
I have a GODdaughter who was born in Korea, but adopted into her forever family in America.
I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you journey to find your baby....
and those moments of clarity are amazing, arn't they!!!
Love you all....
I just got together with a friend who was adopted from Columbia in 1978. For her 30th birthday, her mother made her an adoption scrapbook...it was amazing...it contained pictures, currency, paperwork...lists of what her parents did each day, what they had for meals, pictures of where they stayed while they waited...everything. I thought of you immediately. Maybe we can all get together so you can see it.
Hi, I found your blog from the Holt forum (I have just recently started reading posts, but have yet to sign up)and saw your post about the HSTK question. We actually have a very similar timeframe to you and have felt the same way about not really having a clue as to what comes next and I have been wondering when in the world we were going to be on "the wait list." I finally called our agency after a month of no news and the lady told us our homestudy was approved on July 17- Apparently we had already been "waiting" for almost a month and didn't even know it! Just thought I'd introduce myself, since our homestudy dates are so close together. Hope you here something very soon!
