It's been awhile, I know. I've been hearing it via e-mail and phone calls. Christmas and New Years were quite busy in our house. I felt a lot of pressure to post something really thoughtful for the holidays, and yet always came up blank when I sat to type. How many ways can I say how wonderful it was? It was. Truly wonderful. There is no better feeling than waking up Christmas morning with my family. There has always seemed to be a little something missing on Christmas. This year he was home in our arms and we've never felt so complete.

Christmas Eve was spent at Imants' parents house. This is always fun. I love that the family has so many traditions they've stayed true to all these years. Yes, even CANDLES on a Christmas tree! The best part of the night is the kids. We have Livija, Kalvis and two sets of twins (both 3 years old). It's a bit of a madhouse, but that is what Christmas is all about.

Then we came home, and carried our little ones to bed. Visions of Sugarplums already started dancing during the car ride. Imants and I stayed up for Santa. He was good to us this year.

And then Christmas Day at our house with my family, a 30 lb Turkey and lamb. Imants is the cook. I'm the chopper/prep girl. It was awesome.

After all was said and done, and the presents were opened, I think we all agree that this is the best gift of all.
